QHSSE & Certifications

In the offshore marine industry, quality, safety, and environmental responsibility are not optional — they are fundamental to protecting people, assets, and the environments where operations are conducted.

Responsibility Are Not Optional

A Commitment to the Highest Standards

At Odyssea Offshore Solutions, these principles are not simply observed as regulatory requirements. They are embedded into the culture, processes, and daily operations of the organisation at every level.
Odyssea Offshore Solutions maintains a comprehensive Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environment management framework that governs how the company plans, executes, monitors, and continuously improves its operations. This framework is certified to three internationally recognised ISO standards by Bureau Veritas (BV) — one of the world’s leading classification and certification organisations — and underpinned by compliance with the International Safety Management Code (ISM) — each reflecting a distinct but complementary dimension of Odyssea’s commitment to operational excellence and responsible business conduct.

ISM Code Compliance and Document of Compliance

Odyssea Offshore Solutions operates in full compliance with the
International Safety Management (ISM) Code — the internationally
recognised framework established by the International Maritime
Organization for the safe management and operation of vessels. The
ISM Code sets out the requirements for developing, implementing, and
maintaining a Safety Management System to ensure safety at sea,
prevent human injury or loss of life, and avoid damage to the
environment and property.

As part of its commitment to ISM compliance, Odyssea OffshoreSolutions holds a Document of Compliance (DOC) issued by the Flag Administration through a Recognised Organisation. The DOC is the formal certification that confirms Odyssea’s Safety Management System meets the requirements of the ISM Code — and is a prerequisite for the operation of vessels under Odyssea’s management. For clients, the DOC assures that Odyssea’s vessel management activities are governed by a robust, audited, and internationally recognised maritime safety management framework — and that the company operates to the standards expected of a responsible and professional vessel operator.

ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System

Odyssea’s ISO 9001:2015 certification is issued by Bureau Veritas (BV), providing clients with the assurance that the Quality Management System has been independently assessed and verified by one of the world’s most respected certification bodies.

Odyssea Offshore Solutions holds ISO 9001:2015 certification across its offshore marine operations, reflecting the company’s commitment to service quality, process discipline, and client satisfaction. The Quality Management System establishes clear standards for how services are planned and delivered, how performance is monitored and measured, and how improvements are identified and implemented on an ongoing basis.

For clients, ISO 9001:2015 certification provides assurance that Odyssea’s services are delivered through a governed, audited, and continuously refined process framework — not on an ad hoc basis. Every service interaction, from vessel management and crew deployment to project execution and port agency coordination, isunderpinned by documented procedures, defined responsibilities, and measurable performance standards.

The practical outcomes of Odyssea’s Quality Management System include consistent service delivery across all operations, proactive identification and resolution of non-conformances, structured client feedback mechanisms, and a culture of continuous improvement that drives ongoing enhancement of service quality across the organisation.

ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management System

Odyssea’s ISO 14001:2015 certification is issued by Bureau Veritas (BV), providing clients with confidence that the Environmental Management System meets internationally recognised standards as verified by an independent and globally respected certification body.

Odyssea Offshore Solutions holds ISO 14001:2015 certification, reflecting the company’s commitment to responsible environmental stewardship across all offshore marine operations. The Environmental Management System establishes the framework through which Odyssea identifies its environmental aspects and impacts, sets measurable environmental objectives, and implements controls and practices designed to reduce its environmental footprint. In the offshore marine sector, environmental responsibility carries particular significance.

Operations at sea occur in some of the world’s most sensitive and ecologically important environments, and the consequences of environmental mismanagement can be severe and long-lasting. Odyssea takes this responsibility seriously — promoting fuel-efficient vessel operations, actively managing emissions, ensuring proper waste handling and disposal, and maintaining full compliance with international environmental regulations including MARPOL and applicable port state requirements.

ISO 14001:2015 certification provides clients with the assurance that Odyssea’s environmental management practices meet internationally recognised standards and are subject to independent audit and continuous review. It also reflects Odyssea’s broader commitment to sustainable operations — recognising that responsible environmental management is not only the right thing to do, but an increasingly important consideration for energy sector clients managing their own environmental, social, and governance obligations.

ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health and Safety Management System

Odyssea’s ISO 45001:2018 certification is issued by Bureau Veritas (BV), providing clients with the assurance that the Occupational Health and Safety Management System has been independently assessed and verified to the highest international standards.

Odyssea Offshore Solutions holds ISO 45001:2018 certification, reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of every person working under its management — whether aboard a vessel at sea or within its shore-based operations.

The offshore marine environment presents inherent occupational health and safety challenges. Personnel work in dynamic, physically demanding conditions, often far from shore and in close proximity to heavy equipment, hazardous materials, and unpredictable weather. Managing these risks effectively requires more than good intentions — it requires a structured, proactive, and continuously improving safety management system that identifies hazards, assesses risks, implements controls, and monitors performance rigorously.

Odyssea’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System, certified to ISO 45001:2018, provides exactly that framework. Safety performance is monitored across all operations, and safety objectives are set and reviewed regularly to drive continuous improvement. The system is designed not only to achieve compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, but to go beyond compliance — fostering a proactive safety culture in which every individual understands their role in maintaining a safe working environment.

For clients, ISO 45001:2018 certification provides confidence that Odyssea takes crew and personnel safety as seriously as operational performance — and that the people deployed and managed under Odyssea’s oversight are protected by a world-class occupational health and safety framework.

An Integrated Approach to QHSSE

While each certification and compliance framework addresses a distinct management domain, Odyssea operates these systems in an integrated manner — recognising that quality, environmental responsibility, occupational safety, and security are inherently interconnected dimensions of responsible offshore marine operations.

The integrated QHSSE management approach ensures that decisions and actions taken in pursuit of one objective do not compromise another. Safety improvements are assessed for their environmental implications. Efficiency gains are evaluated against quality and safety standards. Environmental initiatives are implemented with full consideration of their impact on operational performance and
personnel safety.

This holistic approach to QHSSE management reflects Odyssea’s belief that truly excellent offshore marine operations are those that deliver consistent performance across all dimensions — not just commercial and operational, but human and environmental as well.

Continuous Improvement as a Core Principle

Certification to ISO standards and compliance with the ISM Code is not a destination — it is a commitment to an ongoing process of review, learning, and improvement. Odyssea Offshore Solutions embraces this principle fully. Regular internal audits, management reviews, and independent third-party assessments ensure that the company’s QHSSE management systems remain effective, relevant, and aligned with evolving industry standards and client expectations.
